I recieved my first pair of Birkenstocks while in high school, 10th grade to be exact. I thought they were ugly and made for the elderly. My papa wore his with socks. His entire outfit consists of walking shorts, a polo shirt and his "birkus!" Is what he called them, lol. All I knew was that they weren't going to be no where on my feet. I said "Thank you" for the gift and slid the box under my bed. Later!!
December rolls around and my best friend comes by to exchange christmas gifts. To my confusion she's wearing the exact same "birkus" I have. Double buckle in that sand color. She was so happy with her's. He'll the way she spoke about them was orgasmic. I only felt that way about my Gucci boots and MCM bag. Now I gotta see what the hell she's ranting about. I ran to my room stuck the length of my arm under my bed ( thats how far under the bed I pushed them) pulled out the box, torn the lid off as if it were gift wrapped, pulled out the right foot sandal and slid them on my foot and damit! They had me at "hello again" I fell in love!!! when i put the left shoe on and stood up, it felt as if the sandals quickly conformed to the pressure points of my feet, absorbing my weight.
Today's Birkenstocks are so stylish. Barneys carries different prints and styles. My favorite are the silver and gold metallics, light blue and white striped, floral and the jewled. Birkenstocks are one of the most versatile shoe in the world.

Ladies we've all been there, when your pumps or high heel sandals become too tight from hours of standing or walking and once you take them off even for a second to rub your foot, it is diffucult to put the damn shoe back on because of the pain and swelling.
